A message from the President...

As President of the Lake View Cricket Club I would like to welcome everybody to our club and thank you for visiting our website. Lake View was founded in 1933-34 and is the most successful cricket club in the Goldfields. Apart from the many premierships that we have won, we are well known as a club for having a rich history of producing some of the most outstanding and brilliant local junior cricketers to have ever played in the Goldfields. In 2018-19 we were incredibly excited about moving  our club rooms and training facilities to the newly developed and state of the art, Ray Finlayson Sports Arena. Our facilities includes showers, change rooms and a licensed bar area. Our net facilities include 4 operational nets plus a permanent net for our bowling machine. The local council has made the Ray Finlayson Sports Arena the home of cricket in the Goldfields and we have embraced this arena as our new home.

We are a family first club that is a part of the national Good Sports Program. Sporting clubs such as ours play a significant role in the community and have a responsibility to our members and their families. We have chosen to join over 7000 clubs across Australia taking part in the Good Sports program. Through Good Sports we are committed to managing alcohol responsibly and ensuring smoke free areas, which we believe will help us to provide a healthy, safe and family friendly environment.  Together, we are helping inspire a healthier sporting nation. Please speak to our club committee about what being a Good Sports club is all about or visit www.goodsports.com.au.

Our Club is incredibly serious about being a leader both on and off the field so that all players and families feel welcomed and safe in our club environment. To reinforce this we have clearly outlined policies for everybody to see. They are all listed below for your viewing.

Our club has two senior sides and a particularly strong junior program with five sides in the Eastern Goldfields Junior Cricket Association.  Our junior development is a core focus for the club promoting participation in the great game of cricket for all juniors and a pathway for junior players who are identified by regional and state coaches. All of our coaches are about  making sure all of the players have fun and enjoyment when training and playing. It is about participation and getting the kids to fall in love with the game of cricket.

If you are new to town and would like to play the great game of cricket please contact myself, at anytime on, 0428 888 587. If you have a child who wishes to play cricket then they are most welcome at our club. We have sides in the U/12's, U14's and u/17's competition. You can contact us on any of the numbers above or please call our Junior Coordinator Trevor Spence on 0437 222 481.

Having moved to our new facilities in the 2018-19 season it is a momentous time for the club. It is however important we don't forget  where we have come from. On our Club History tab at the top of the page is a detailed written and photographic history of the club which is well worth a read and reminds us of our journey as a club. We are now in an incredibly exciting time and we are all really looking forward to our future in Goldfields Cricket.

Regards

Andrew Herl
